Many people who have homes with backyards and a patio are working towards upgrading their setting to make it even more homey and entertaining. Imagine having an entire outdoor kitchen, full with tables and chairs for eating and even a bar area for drinks after. It is quite easy to achieve this and many people are already doing it.
A welcoming eating and drinking space includes a set of bar stools that are quite useful and versatile. Of course the type you buy largely depends on the style you use for your area. If you have a pool nearby you could go for some wicker stools or even a bamboo type. If you are in the city and you entertain on your roof top (you'd be surprised how popular this is), you can go for some chrome bar stools with arm rests. If you are about to upgrade your entire patio with new furniture, consider some bar stools and a matching table and give your old stuff away to charity or those needy. If they are still in usable condition, don't throw them away, some people can use them.
You might be working a lot of time in your garage and when people come to visit, you prefer to stay in the garage and entertain there. You can now do this with a few bar stools and a small table to place the drinks on it.
And in case you simply want to have a tet-a-tet with your spouse or friend in the shade of the garden, why don't you place two chairs and a small round table and be away from the noise of the rest of the house. Or you could even have your chair, your small table and your laptop for a quiet working afternoon in the garden.
As you can see, outdoor bar stools can be used for many different occasions and I'm sure there are many more that I haven't thought about.
